Live in Wellness: June Events

The month of June is named after the Roman goddess of marriage, Juno. It is no wonder that so many weddings occur during the month of June. As is such, Juniper Communities will be reminiscing about and celebrating weddings throughout the month. June is also the month with the longest daytime hours of the year in the northern hemisphere. Make the best of the extended days by celebrating wellness!

Can the choices you make really affect your health and wellness? Absolutely! Cancer, heart disease, lung disease, stroke and injury, the major causes of death and health problems, can all be prevented by choosing a healthy lifestyle. Simple changes like choosing not to smoke, seeing your doctor regularly, maintaining a healthy diet, exercising and getting enough sleep all contribute to longer life.

This month we finish our quarterly Alive In All Seasons theme of “Let Wellbeing Thrive” by engaging in activities focused on food and nutrition. Look for our consistently health snack and juice options at our hydration stations and dietitian presentations. Our H’Art and Soul of Dining Program will also be showcased as we implement the addition of more regional favorites – focusing on fresh and scratch made, our signature soups and muffin of the day as well as the new grill menu.

Our fabulous activity offerings this month include our Healthy Snack Creations with RN Deb Albright on June 4th at 11:30 am; our Annual Ocean City Outing on June 5th starting at 9:30 am; our Power Nutrition for Optimum Health presentation by Nutritionist Mary Lou Bialon on June 11th at 11:00 am; and our Resident Greek Cultural Celebration Lunch on June 20th at noon. Join us this month as we Live in Wellness.

Growing Strong Daily At Juniper Village of Williamstown!

This month at Juniper Village of Williamstown we are enjoying every
minute of "Growing Strong Daily"! We are taking full advantage to
celebrate being in vibrant health at all stages of life and
encourageing everyone to continue on the path of becoming stronger
with each beautiful day! We are enjoying fitness classes with
Personal Fitness Trainer, Kim Stewart. She really gets our hearts
pumping and our joints flexing, while at the same time having so much
fun! Kim also keeps us all hydrated, reminding us of the importance
of drinking fresh water all day to stay in optimum health and fitness.
We have kicked off our Annual Route 66 Walking Contest and residents,
families and associates have been enjoying the beautiful fresh air as
we are logging miles and staying ahead of the competition. Right now,
it looks like George is in the lead of his category! Let's keep it
moving everyone! In addition, we just celebrated Cinco De Mayo in
style! Residents were treated to a traditional Mexican Lunch
celebration and our Dining Services Manager Ray Richardson and the
Dining Team went all out creating amazing Beef Fahitas and Chicken
Enchiladas con Aroz! We celebrated with the sounds of Mexico and
danced Spanish dances. That was the real work out of the day! Our
amazing Med Tech and Juniper Spirit Award Winner, Olga gave us all
dance lessons! She is the master!!!!

Join us this spring as we continue to enjoy the celebration of life,
health and fitness here at Juniper Village of Williamstown! It is our
wish that everyone continue to "Grow Strong Daily" ,stay in optimum
health and dance in this beautiful gift we call Life!
