Awaken Your Passion In Williamstown!

As February 2016 draws near to an end, we count our blessings here at Juniper Village of Williamstown.  Residents, families, and community friends have enjoyed a wonderful array of beautiful and passionate events.

We enjoyed a wonderful Mardi Gras Extravaganza event, with New Orleans Jazz, Traditional King Cake, Jamming Jamaica Ray's Famous Hurricane Punch, and, of course, a spectacular display of colorful masks, beads, and more!  In addition, we were blessed with our special Sorority Sisters delivering hand-made Valentine’s day cards for our residents, and residents enjoyed a special Valentine's Day Lunch with a concert featuring Songs of Passion by their favorite local artist!  We also had a day of Passionate Beauty as Rowan University came in and treated our residents to manicures and beauty makeovers for a very beautiful Valentine's Experience. Residents also enjoyed celebrating their Valentine's with their Great-Grandchildren in extreme joy! We also held our Annual "Valentine's Cookies For a Cure" Fundraiser event and made a wonderful donation to the Alzheimer's Association.

Join us here at Williamstown and "Awaken Your Passion!"  We hope to see you for our events to come in March!

Juniper Village at Williamstown Celebrates The Arts!

This month as we celebrate our "Alive in All Seasons" theme of Art to "Awaken Your Passion", we were overjoyed to host many wonderful events with artistic expression already!

We kicked off the month with a wonderful presentation by our Executive Director, MaryJane Eicke, R.N., on Creating and Maintaining Excellent Heart Health at all stages of life!  It was a very informative presentation and everyone received great tips to enhance heart health every day!  We all enjoyed a great celebration of "Go Red" For Women’s Heart Health and had a great time while we of course "brought on the RED"!

We continued our activities by welcoming New Residents into our community with a very special expression of passion! As one of our new residents was the best friend and neighbor of one of our existing residents Dorothy, so Dorothy, being an ambassador in our building, had the honor of welcoming her friend to be her neighbor once again here at Juniper Village at Williamstown.  It really made the new resident's welcome to her new home so joyous and very special!

We also enjoyed a wonderful Author's Book Signing with one of our resident's daughter's newly released publications and we had an interesting presentation in celebration of such a great accomplishment! Everyone was so proud!

We invite you to the many wonderful events to come during the weeks ahead, and remember to create the best "Art" by painting a life that is an artistic expression within itself!

Happy Valentine's Day Everyone!

Surviving the Blizzard of 2016 in Williamstown!

As we enjoy these beautiful photos of former days in the sun with our Executive Director, MaryJane Eicke, and her best friend we all breathe a sigh of relief after Blizzard of 2016!

MaryJane went into full on "Storm Patrol" preparations, like a Drill Sergeant!  She directed our team with preparations on every front...Site Checks, Salt Provisions, Plow Truck Brigades, Back Up Generators, Lanterns, Rescue Planning, Backup Food Provisions, Back Up Water Stations, Back Up Electronics and Phone Capacities!  Our Willliamstown Brigades were ready and in force!

As if that wasn't enough, MaryJane insisted on sleeping over and being the General at the Front Desk all through the Storm to ensure our families and team had the perfect triage!  As a thank you, she did get the best Accommodations in the house with her own Private Suite, filled with the comforts of home, by our Dining and Maintenance Man!

Her own husband was worried the General would not want to return home to her usual accommodations!

In all seriousness, after the storm, many of our precious residents thanked her so much for staying with them, as they said she made them feel safe!  We honor and salute our General MaryJane for a Job Well Done!

Hopefully, we can look forward to more days in the sun coming soon!!!

February 2016 Events in Williamstown, NJ: Awaken Your Passion

In February we turn our Alive In All Seasons focus to art and invite you to awaken your passion with us. Leo Tolstoy defines the activity of art as “To evoke in oneself a feeling one has experienced, and... then, by means of movements, lines, colors, sounds or forms expressed in words, so to transmit that feeling.”

This month we will transmit our feelings using many different mediums to let other share in our experiences, feelings and passions. We will travel through art around the world and experience art as it is meant to be – inspirational and transformative. We will feel the cool breeze and smell the fragrant blossoms of Monet’s gardens in Giverny, France as we gaze upon In the Garden and the Water Lilies series. We will feel the angst of Vincent Van Gogh as we admire his passionate works such as Vase with Twelve Sunflowers and The Starry Night. We will also pour our passion into our own creations evoking memories of the past to share with the future.

Please join us on this journey as we visit local art museums and create our own art through weekly craft programs. Celebrate with us as we recognize Valentine’s Day with sweets for the sweet and Fat Tuesday foods and fun at our Mardi Gras party.

Our fabulous February 2016 events in Williamstown, NJ at Juniper Village at Williamstown include our:

§  Annual “Sinners and Saints” Mardi Gras Celebration for residents and family to have a wild and sweet Mardi Gras, featuring colorful beads, soulful music, and abundant delectable dishes on February 9th at 2:00 pm.
